APPEAL FOR £IOO,OOO

WELFARE OF SERVICES TWO BODIES CO-OPERATE Y.M.C.A. AND SALVATION ARMY [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Tuesday A joint appeal by the Young Men's Christian Association and the Salvation Army to be held in the period ending March 16 was on at a recent meeting of the National Patriotic Fund Board. Mayors throughout the Dominion have been notified of the arrangements and have been asked to co-operate with the two organisations. A committee comprising representatives of both bodies and interested citizens has been sot up in Wellington. Combined committees will be set up throughout the Dominion in the near future.

The appeal is to be known as the fighting services welfare appeal aud the amount aimed at is £IOO,OOO. The joint secretaries are Brigadier Gibbs, of the Salvation Army, and Mr. J. H. Dick, of the Y.M.C.A.
