Verse.— # - Come, let us fto tho Lord our God With contrite hearts return: Our God is gracious, nor will leave The desolate^to mourn. .... Prayer.—Thou art the Compassion- * ate One, 0 God, and Thy mercy endureth for ever. Our hearts are in Thy keeping; cleanse them from evil and restore the joy of friendship with Thee. Establish us in right living through this day and help us so to love and labour for Thy kingdom of righteousness and peace, that at evening'we may have peace ourselves I" Christ's name we ask it. Amen.
