CAR RACING MISHAP

INJURY TO ASSISTANT MACHINE OUT OF CONTROL A fracture of the left leg was suffered by Mr. John Hedlund, a middleaged man, of 5 Faulder Avenue, Grey Lynn, when he was struck by a midget racing car driven by Ronald Roy croft at the meeting at the Western Springs Stadium last night. Mr. Hedlund, who was employed as a track assistant, was standing on the grass inside the track at. the entrance to the straight when the car skidded round out of control and ran at right angles to the track. The injured man was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance.
