SEAMAN'S OFFENCES
UNLAWFULLY IN UNIFORM FIGHT IN HOBSON STREET "Try and get into ipllawfully iiexf time," said the magistrate, Mr. C. B.* Orr Walker, in the Police Court, yesterday, in fining a seaman, Albert McGregor, on a charge of wearing a .military uniform without being a member of the forces. Accused admitted the charge, and a further one of fighting with Alfred George Freegard in Hobson Street on Sunday. Sub-Inspector Pender said that accused ano Freegard were arrested _bv a constable who found them fighting outside a hotel in Hobson Street. McGregor was not entitled to wear the uniform, which belonged to his brother. Remarking that there did not seem to be any ulterior motive in McGregor's wearing the uniform, the magistrate fined him £1 and imposed a similar fine on the fighting charge. Freegard was fined £1 for fighting. He admitted the charge.
