YESTERDAY'S SALES RETURN ON INVESTMENTS Following is a list of transactions on the New Zealand Stofck Exchanges and the yield at the quoted price. The exchange premium on dividends payable in sterling is included, and allowanco is made for British income tax where necessary. The yield on Government loans and local body loans includes redemption and an allowanco for brokerage.

AUSTRALIAN DEALINGS STEADY PRICES RULING RESTRICTED BUSINESS (Received January 20, 10.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. Jan. 20 Values on the Sydney Stock Exchange to-dav were steady. Business was restricted. Sales included: —

EAST COAST SHEEP MOVEMENT TO WAIKATO BRIGHT SALE PROSPECTS [from OUII own correspondent] HAMILTON. Friday Store slicop from East Coast districts are arriving in tlio Waikato in evcr-incroasing numbers and many thousands have already been sent by road, rail and sea. The first sale was held at Morrinsville to-day, and in the coming weoks many further sales will be held. The boat bringing sheep to Tauranga, where they are railed to the Waikato, has a full schedule until tho end of February. These are mainly sheep which liavo already been sold to Waikato farmers. Road mobs are arriving continuously at Taneatua, from where tlioy are brought by train. With tho recent increase in export pricey for fat ewes and the improvement in wool values, .prospects for the sales appear bright. It is expected that the most popular classes will bo young sheep and it is considered that prices for two-tooths will" bo 5s to 6s ahead of those ruling last year. Five-year-old. ewes are also expected to bo in demand, with an improvement on last year's values.

QUOTATIONS FOR SILVER LONDON, Jan. 25 Silver is quoted at 21 13-16 d a standard ounce and 23 9-16 d an ounce fine. HIGHER TIN VALUES LONDON, Jan. 25 _ Quotations for tin show a further rise. Latest rates ire:—Spot and forward: Buyers, £234 5s a ton; sellers, £234 10s. Prices for other metals remain unchanged. SYDNEY PRODUCE VALUES SYDNEY, Jan. 25 The wheat market is dull. Silo grain is quoted at 3s 9J(I and bagged 4s OJd; flour, £l2 10s; bran and pollard, £4 ss; potatoes, Tasmanian, £11; others, £7 to £9 15s; onions, Victorian, brown, £5 to £6; white, £6; maize, yollow, 5s 6d; white, ss.
