HAPPY CHILDREN

LIFE AT JIOTUIHI ANNUAL HEALTH CAMPS FEWER PARTIES THIS SUMMER Bronzed, healthy and happy, 104 children returned to the city yesterday morning from the health camp arranged by the Community Sunshine Association at Motuihi Island. That a fortnight in the sunshine and on the beaches had agreed with them was evident from the fact that all had gained in weight, the increase in individual cases ranging from Vilb. to 41b. To take their place, about 150 children left the city yesterday afternoon and they, too, will enjoy a fortnight at Motuihi. On their return a third and final party will be sent to the camp for a similar period. A group of 35 children will leave for the -Methodist Camp at Campbell's Bay on January 11. They will be replaced on their return after a fortnight bj another group of 35. The camps are run on undenominational lines, all the children being nominated bv the National Children's Health Camp Organisation, which administers the funds. These funds are raised by the sale of health stamps and from private donations. Probably on account of the war and allied factors, contributions have not been so great this summer, with the result that considerably fewer parties are being sent to the camps compared with last vear.
