WAIKATO CONTESTS CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT MEN'S TITLE TO J. ROACH [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Tho Waikato lawn tennis championships were continued at the Ilostrevor Street courts to-day, The weather was mostly line, although play was interrupted in the'morning by two light showers. As a result a few contests could not' be finalised and the men's doubles and ladies' handicap doubles finals will bo played to-morrow. J. Roach, Hamilton, after losing the first two sets, won tho men's singles from I). Livingstone, also of Hamilton. The game was a long struggle and there was little between the pair. In the final of the ladies' singles, ]\liss Margaret Beverley, Matainata, easily defeated Miss C. Buckley, Hamilton. Misses M. and N. Beverley were successful in the ladies' doubles.
