ACTS OF SABOTAGE

FACTORIES IN AMERICA FOREIGN AGENTS' ACTIVITIES (Received December 29, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 28 A Federal Grand Jury has received evidence that some sabotage has occurred in United States motor-car, aeroplane and munition factories on behalf of foreign countries, and that more is planned. It is also investigating espionage and other activities of foreign agents, including anti-Semit-ism. The secretary of the Bund, James Wheeler Hill, has been arrested on three counts of perjury, one of which is based on evidence at the trial of the Bund leader, Kulin. The information specifies 15 allegations of perjury. The trial has been fixed for January 29. The Dies Committee announces that Dr. Colin Cross, a German propagandist of Scottish descent, who recently toured the United States in a motor-car equipped with cinema apparatus, with which to photograph "specialised industrial plants," has been charged with activities which "appeared to come within the category of espionage."
