UNCONVENTIONAL FILM
"CLOUDS OVER EUROPE" The topical subject of international intrigue is used merely as an excuse for highly, diverting comedy in the Columbia production "Clouds Over Europe," which is to enter the second week of a successful season at the Civic Theatre to-morrow. For the difficult'role of an unconventional Scotland Yard detective the producers have made the happy choice of Ralph Richardson. The character he portrays is typical of the facetious mood which runs through the picture. He is both whimsical and human, an average citizen who constantly loses his umbrella, who likes to make stew, and who holds his butler in mingled awe and contempt. Laurence Olivier, the sullen half-gipsy of " Wutliering Heights," has a vastly different role in "Clouds Over Europe." He appears as "a debonair test pilot who undertakes a dangerous flight, fully aware that it may be his 4ast, in order to solve a mystery which is baffling the British authorities. Valerie Hobson, George Curzon and Sandra Storme also are in the cast.
