SCHOOL SWIMMING POOL FREE SUPPLY OF WATER Tlio proposal of the local school committee to erect nil outdoor miniature swimming pool was approved at tlio Papatoetoe Town Board nicotine; on Tuesday night, when it was agreed to make a free supply of 12,000 gallons of water weekly. A deputation outlined the scheme, which is designed to provide facilities for the tuition of swimming for the 700 children at the district school. Speakers said the committee could finance the construction, but desired assistance with maintenance. In agreeing to make the supply available, members stressed the necessity of ensuring an adequate reserve of water during the summer months. The hope was expressed that the new pumping plant would be installed and the supply from the now bore operating before tlio end of the year Reporting on the by-laws, the building inspector stated that several of the clauses might be held to be unreasonable and somewhat obsolete, and lie- recommended that the question of revision bo considered. It was decided to obtain a copy-of the Standards 'lnstitute model by-laws and undertake tho revision suggested. Permission to show films on Christmas Day in the local cinema was granted.
