FIRST FLAG DAY

STREET COLLECTION SOLDIERS' COMFORTS FUND The first Flag Day, on which a street collection will be taken in aid of the Soldiers' Comforts Fund, will be held in the city and suburbs on Friday, November 24. The collection is being organised by the St. John Ambulance, and numerous social, religious and sporting organisations will assist. Arrangements have been made for 44 stalls in the city and suburban area. The stalls will be decorated with red, white and blue colours, and will bear the name of the organisation responsible for the collecting. In the province there will be a campaign during the week, with one day set aside for the actual collection.
