TBIALS AT WANGANUI HOMILY RUNS GOOD FIVE FOUR FURLONGS BY DYNASTY ENTAIL RECORDS SOLID SEVEN [by telegraph OWN correspondent} WANGANUI, Tuesday Wanganui horses engaged at the Waikato Racing Club's meeting on Saturday and Monday were given their final fast work-outs this morning and will leave for Te Rapa to-morrow afternoon. The work was done on the No. 1 grass track, which was very fast. Homily (E. Ludlow) pleased by covering five furlongs in 1.2. the last half-mile in 49 3-ss. She is in great fettle. Dynasty (L. Jackson), who figures on the minimum in the Hautapu Hack Handicap on Saturday, ran a very smart half-mile in 4S l-ss. He shapes like a stayer and once he strikes winning form should make a name for himself. .Entail (W. Rayner) shaped pleasingly while running seven furlongs in 1.30, the first two in 27s and half-mile in 51s. He is engaged in the Waikato Cup next Saturday and will have the services of W. J. Mudford. If he runs anything like the race he did at Stratford he should ptay a prominent part in the finish. Smart Three by Kingcraft Ringcraft (E. Ludlow) was responsible for three furlongs in 3S l-ss, and it appeared as if he could have done better. Ringcraft, by Ringmaster from Midinette, is all the better for his 'racing at Trentham, and will probably be produced at Woodville before going to Ellcrslie for the Great Northern Foal Stakes. Uvedate, a filly by Leighon, went three furlongs in 39 3-ss. She had the light-weight apprentice D. M. Horue in the saddle, and pleased by running the last two furlongs in 25 4-ss. Uvedalo has been on the easy list since racing at Marton in September, but she will be seen out again at Feilding at the end of the month.
Curtuil, tho half-brother, by Posterity, to Smoke Screen, was associated with Submission in an easy three furlongs, which took 39 4-ss. Curtail is not being hurried, and he will probably bo seen out one day at Woodville, where Submission will also have her next start before going to EHerslie.
A Solid Six Furlongs Tho Tryst, a gelding by Myosotis, went a smart six furlongs in 1.15, running the first half-mile in 48 2-ss. He was well out in the middle of the course, so- it was' a serviceable work-out. He is a candidate for the Maiden Race at Levin, whtre he will be ridden by B. H. Morris. After breakfast Algerian and Sly Girl, a filly by Foxbridge, were not bustled to run three furlongs in 3Ss. Algerian appears to have developed a good deal since he first raced as a two-year-old and should come good this season. Golden Pam, who is under orders for Levin, slipped over five furlongs in 1.2 1-5, running the last four in 503. Eurotas, who is to make his first appearance as a hurdler at Otaki, and is also engaged in the hurdle races at Feilding, gave a good display of clean jumping over four hurdles. He is bred to stay aud, in spito of his disappointing record on the flat, he promises to make good over fonces.
The Fordell trainer D. T. Marks leaves to-morrow afternoon for Te Rapa with Taurangi, Ruatiti and Scandal.
HAWERA ACTIVITIES FIANCEE MOVES FREELY FRIESLAND RUNS BEST HALF. NICE EFFORT WITH KILOMETRE fIJV TELEGRAPH —OWX CORRESPONDENT] HAWERA, Tuesday Conditions were ideal for training at Hawera this morning, when some excellent times were recorded. Most of the work was accomplished on the plough, which was faster than usual. Sea Link (Sexton) easily accounted for Bidens (McDonaldl over half a mile in 50 2-os. Sea Link, who is a three-year-old daughter of Siegfried and All Amber, shaped promisingly in her debut at Stratford recently and may bo an early winuer. She is engaged in the Mako Mako Hack Handicap, six furlongs, at Levin on Saturday. With P. Atkins in the saddle, she may take a lot of beating. "Notium (Sexton) strodo over six furlongs in 1.10. Veldette (Sexton) sprinted half a mile in 51 l-ss. Both completed their tasks satisfactorily. Disturbed (Toki) infused plenty of dash into his work when associated with Captain Bligh (Cole) over a round at threequarter pace. Captain Bligh has built ud a good deal since entering J. Brown's stable, but he is not being hurried, and is unlikely to race before the holidays. Judgment (Holland) shaded Golden Orchid (McDonald) at the conclusion of five furlongs in 1.2 3-os. W. Jenkins has been secured to ride Judgment at Levin. Gold Grip (Grylls) ami Chiltern (Toki) ran half a mile comfortably in 525. Although backward, they are coming to hand satisfactorily. Fiancee (Ryan) traversed the same ground in 49 3-5, hitting out with her usual freedom. She will race next at Feilding. The best half-mile of the morning was credited to Friesland (Sexton) and Kilometre (Ryan), who recorded 49 l-ss. Both finished full of running, Friesland working in dashing style, that was reminiscent of his displays when he was in top form about two years ago. Friesland promises to regain his best. Kilometre is vastly improved and may bo seen to advantage over middlo distances beforo tho season is far advanced. Prime Quality (Mills) completed two rounds of pace work by running threo furlongs in 2-ss. No fault can bo found with his condition.
