AUSTRALIA TO BRITAIN HIGHER PRICE FOR BUTTER CHEESE 74/4 PER CWT. F. 0.8. CANBERRA, Nov." 14 The Minister of Commerce, Senator G. McLeay, has announced that under the contract for the sale of dairy produce to the United Kingdom the price for cheese mil be on the basis of 69s Gd per cwt. landed in London, or 74s 4d, f.0.b., Australian currency. The full details of the. prices, f.0.b., are: — Butter. —Choicest, 137s 2d per cwt.; first grade, 135s lid; second, 131s 2d; pastry, 127s 6d. Cheese. —Ninety points and over, .74s 4d per cwt.; 86 to 89 points, 71s lid; 80 to 85 points, 69s 6d. The price for butter is 9Jd per cwt. higher than that originally announced on October 29, when it was stated the price to be paid for Australian butter was 136s 4id per cwt., Australian currency, f.0.b., for choicest, and correspondingly less for lower grades. Tho cheese prico had not then be.cn officially announced, but it was expected to be on the basis of 72s per .-cwt., f.0.b., Australian currency.

There was still a good demand for all red apples and for good quality Sturmcrs. Values for tomatoes ensed zincl tlio (quantity is rapidly, while strawberries are also increasing in supply. > New potatoes were more plentiful, vi'J] prices slightly easier, -and green peas and beans were in good supply, rc ®'' sl "f K prices. Cabbages and canliflowcfs vere received in very heavy quantities, and there was a consequent- easing in prices. Supplies of pumpkins, carrots, beetroot and kumaras •were short and high prices ruled.
