ANNUAL MEETING
STAFF AT GEORGE COURT'S The 20th annual meeting of the George Court and Sons, Limited, staff mutual aid society was held last night in the firm's restaurant. The president. Mr. J. MacDougal, who presided, said in the courso of a brief review of the society's activities, that the membership now numbered 514, and that last year sick, benefits amounting to £1132 had been paid. Mr. H. Blakely, staff manager, expressed thanks and appreciation on behalf of the staff for the bonus distribution recently made. Tho opportunity was taken by Mr. A. J. Court, chairman of directors, to make a presentation on bohalf of the directors to Mr. Frank Hicks, who had completed 40 years 011 the staff and is still with the firm. There are six other members of the staff who have been with tho firm for over 30 years. After supper a musical programme was presented by members of tho staff and the George Court girls' choir. A iplayette, produced by Mr. J. Clark, was also presented. Miss I. Norgrovo was the _ programme organiser and ■accompanist.
