UNSEASONABLE STORMS WATERSPOUTS IN HAWKE BAY [by TELEGRAPH—OWN correspondent] . HASTINGS, Monday Hail,' rain," wind arid thunder combined to make unusual weather conditions for the time of the year in Hawke's Bay to-day. A particularly heavy hailstorm, accompanied by thuiider, swept Hastings and district shortly before nine o'clock this morning, to be : followed at fire o'clock this evening'by - a further hailstorm. At the Mahora school, 15 panes of glass in the windows ; were cracked by the hail. • Residents of the fill area of Napier were accorded a splendid view of three small waterspouts sweeping with great rapidity across Hawke Bay, until they ultimately disappeared in the direction of Gisborne. Emanating from the vicinity of Cape Kidnappers, the waterspouts, travelling several miles apart, were in view for several minutes.
