BUSINESS MEN'S PROTEST A protest against the Auckland Electric-Power Board's action in establishing a receiving office and showroom in the premises of a private firm was made in a petition signed by 37 Papakura. business men received at tho board's meeting yesterday. The petition asked that district premises be provided at Papakura. The board decided to reply that the present economic conditions definitely placed a building programme in the district in the future. The present arrangement was for one year, and any slight gain to one firm would be offset by the benefits to consumers generally. The board, had no selling arrangement with the company concerned.
