An inqiiest was f. held into the deaths of two of the victims, Harold George Little, enginv.eer's apprentice, aged 17, and his 'i stepfather; Mr. Arthur Samuel Boyle, % milk roundsmait; aged 29. The body of Boyle was found on ; October ,9 and that of Little on 1 October 15. The body of the third man, Robert "David Owen, aged 18, | has not been recovered. Mrs.. Audrey Boyle, widow of Arthur * Samuel Boyle, stated that her husband > and Owen could swim, but Little could 2 not. I Constable Walton gave evidence of * extensive ' search measures taken for t» the missing v men. The dinghy, when ■" recovered, was found in a sound coni dition. Watches found on Boyle aml Little had stopped at shortly before - eight o'clock and at 8.45 respectively. A verdict of accidental drowning £ was roturned. b}* the coroner. After the '» verdict was announced a tribute was j paid to Constable Walton, of Point Chevalier; on behalf of the relatives " of the deceased.
