Burbidge left tor Wellington by last night's limited expres. ; - Sir Alexander Roberts has been reelected president of the Automobile Association (Wellington). Mr. H. ,H. Cornish, K.C., SolicitorGeneral, is attending a sitting of the Native Land Court at Dunedin. Mr. A. Ely, president, and Mr. A. M. Seaman, have been appointed to represent the -Auckland Chamber of Commerce upon the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Mr. J. Lander, superintendent of police at Wanganui, is to retire shortly, after 40 years' service in the force. He was stationed at Auckland from<»l9ls to 1921 as a sergeant, and later a senior-sergeant. ' - - Mr. Allan .J. Moody, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, who was admitted • to the Auckland Hospital on October 12 suffering from a- severe spinal injury caused by a fall in a city street, was reported yesterday to be making satisfactory progress. However, lie is likely to be incapacitated for some time. Dr. E. P. Allen, formerly of New Plymouth, has been appointed radioli* gist at the New" Plymouth Hospital. After graduating at Otago University, Dr. Allen was radium officer at the Cancer Hospital, London, for a year, ' and was awarded the Chester-Beatty Scholarship for radiological research, under which he spent a year at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, New York. Ho is at present radiologist at the Leicester General Infirmary.
