MINISTER'S RETURN
THE REV. W. BOWER BLACK EXTENSIVE OVERSEAS TRIP Although there was a slight undercurrent of nervous feeling in European countries during a visit made by him to the Continent during Jul}', the Rev. W. Bower Black, minister of St. David's Presbyterian Church, who has returned to Auckland after a ninemonth's world tour, stilted that he was impressed by courteous and friendly feelings shown everywhere. Mr. Black, who was accompanied by his wife, visited Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Franco during his European journey. From- Cologne to Heidelberg ho travelled down the Rhine an<l his impressions of Germany wero of comparative peace. Young people were happy and singing, and soldiers with .whom ho travelled on trains were most courteous
During his stay in Britain Mr. Black attended the General Assembly at Edinburgh, where ho spoke for the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. Ono of the features of the Assembly, said Mr. Black, was the tremendous ovation given to Mr. Chamberlain when ho came to Edinburgh to address the gathering.
