SUNDAY GAMES ON DOMAIN
Sir, —I wish to make a protest concerning tho ban 041 Sunday sport 011 the Auckland Domain. At present there arc 10 good tennis courts and a large playing area which are practically unused because of the controlling body's attitude toward Sunday sport. The only concession made is to allow golfers the use of tho outer area of the domain before 8 a.m. in the morning, and during the hours 12 till 2 p.m. in tho afternoon, both very inconvenient times. Surely there could be no harm in allowing both golf and tennis to bp jilnycd on Sunday. Undoubtedly greater revenue would be derived from the courts as thev would certainly bo well patronised. These facilities would largely benefit the health of the community. Are we so conservative that theso conditions cannot bo changed? Sportsman.
