REQUEST FOR NURSE
GREAT BARRIER ISLAND SOUTH RIDING RESIDENTS ■' Dissatisfaction with resisting nursing conditions in the sou th riding of Great Barrier Island was expressed in a letter from 67 residents received by the Auckland Hospital Board last night. Tht 1 ' request was made that Mrs. P. Mitcbenefj a fully-qualified registered nurse, should be appointed to the riding and that the nurses' salary and allowance should he divided equally. The district nurse, it was stated, lived at zi remote part 0 the island and could not reach Whnr.gaparapara, Okupu, Awana and Tryphena soon enough. ' ;
The matter was deferred for six months. It was stated ill at the boar was thoroughly investigating tho who u matter. The construction of a proposed new road might help matter* considerably .
