DECREES GRANTED
HUSBANDS' PETITIONS Two divorce petitions were heard by Mr. Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court yesterday. On tiro ground of his wife's failure to com pi v with a decree for restitution of conjugal rights, Frederick Charles Merritt Shortt, medical practitioner (Mr. Wallace), sought divorce from Rita Mar.v Abigail Shortt. Petitioner said they were married in Christchnrch it) January, 1027. and had one child. A. decree for restitution of conjugal rights granted against his wife last, November had not been complied with, and she was now in England. Petitioner was granted a decree nisi with interim custody ,of the child. The petition of Keith W.vnyard Bavnes, of To Awamutu (Mr. Schramm), for divorce from Audrey Blanche Raynes was also based oil failure to comply with a decree for restitution. The parties were married in March, 19.'i7. Petitioner gave evidence that a decree for restitution granted him last Marclrhad not been complied with, and ho was granted a decree nisi.
