EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS
MEASURES IN ENGLAND STUDY BY AUCKLANDER [from our own conßKsro.vm:.vr] LONDON, July 24 While in England recently Mrs. W. R. Wilson, of Auckland, spent a considerable time in making herself acquainted with air raid precautions schemes, in case of need. Airs. Wilson took a course of anti-gas and Red Cross lectures, spent some time with the fire brigade, seeing the volunteer workers in action, and was present in Hyde Park for the review of voluntary workers by the King and Queen. Mrs. Wilson's interest 011 behalf of cripples took her 0110 day to Alton, where marvellous work is done under the aegis of the Lord Mayor Treloar Fund. The hospital is in charge of Sir Henry Gauvain, who showed Mrs. Wilson all over the hospital and explained the various treatments which the little patients were undergoing. Another interesting day was spent at Oxford seeing the work of the Nuffield organisation.
Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Liston Wilson, who accompanied her, found time for an interesting tlireo weeks' motor tour on the Continent. They joined the Rangitane for New Zealand 011 July 21. and are due in Auckland on August 23.
