CHINA BITTER

ACTION OF BRITAIN CASE OF FOUR MEN PKOTEST ENTERED "YIELDING TO JAPAN" By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 15, 0.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 15 The Chinese Government, has protested to the British Embassy at Chungking, condemning the, decision to hand over the four Chinese accused to the Local Court at Tientsin. The Chinese Government says the world knows the so-called Local Court is part of the puppet regime created by Japanese aggression. "It is most regrettable," says the 'Chinese Government, "that, while China is putting up heroic resistance against a disturber of world peace, the British Government should have found it expedient to yield to Japan's unjustified demand and allow its own rights and interests in the Far East to be jeopardised." JAPAN'S POLICY FORMULA PREP ABED EUROPEAN SITUATION PRIME MINISTER'S CAUTION (Received August 10, 12.30 a.m.) TOKIO, Aug. 15 The Japanese Prime Minister, Baron Hiranuma, the Foreign 'Minister, Mr. Arita, and the War Minister, General Itagaki, have drafted a formula to deal with the European situation, and will submit it to the Inner Cabinet on Friday.
