POWER RESTRICTED
FAULT AT PENROSE SfATION WIDE AREA AFFECTED A number of consumers of electric power in -the Wnitemata and North Auckland areas were restricted in their supply between the evening peak hours of 5 and 6.30 o'clock yesterday as the result of a fault in a cable box at t 0 Penrose sub-station.. The fault occurred at 3.30 o'clock, on® bank of transformers at tli® station being thrown out of commission, ing the remaining bank to vyholo burden. This resulted in » restricted supply over a wide area Q ; brief periods, an endeavour being s®° to distributo the current in such a that no, one group of consumers oU suffer unduly. An appeal was made the public to assist in copiilg trouble by curtailing the use of no essential services. It was anticipated that re P. would be completed early this ITlor when conditions would be normal.
