EXPRESS HITS LORRY

DRIVER SERIOUSLY HURT LEVEL CROSSING ACCIDENT [by telegraph—press association] "WELLINGTON, Sunday Severe head injuries were suffered by tho driver of a motor-lorry which was struck by the New Plymouth-Welling-ton express at the railway station level crossing at Paraparaumu shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday. The injured man, Mr. H. Wright, a labourer, of Paraparaumu, who was admitted to the Wellington Hospital, was reported todav to be in a serious condition.

Mr. Wright was the only occupant of the lorry. He was thrown out of the* vehicle, the back part of which was badly damaged.
