COMFORTABLE DAY MAKING_PROGRESS MESSAGE PROM KING SYMPATHY IN ILLNESS r IJY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON, Sunday The Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, spent a comfortable week-end following his operation in the Lewisham Hospita on Friday. A bulletin issued at eight o'clock to-night by his medical advisers, Dr. J. Roberts Boyd and Mr. E. Gordon Anderson, stated that Mr. Savage had had a very comfortable day and that he was progressing as well as could be expected. Mr. Savage also spent a comfortable day yesterday. The bulletin issued this morning stated that he had had a good night, with many spells of uninterrupted sleep. His condition then w<is reported to be more reassuring. Mr. Savage has not yet progressed sufficiently to receive visitors. Notable among the messages of sympathy which continue to arrive in great numbers from all parts of the Empire, was one received to-day from His Majesty the King, .who is at present in residence at Balmoral Castle. It read: — The Queen and I are so sorry to hear that you have had to undergo an operation and trust that you will make a speedy and complete recovery. A message was also received during the week-end from the Leader of the Australian Commonwealth Labour Party, Mr. John Curtin. The message read: — "Sincerest wishes from the whole Australian Labour movement for your speedy and complete recovery. We send our regards and admiration."
