The races started and finished off the clubhouse * and were sallied in a steady breeze from .• the south. In the first, race Lovebug and .Cockle crossed the lino together,, with the others a little distance astern. Lovebug went into the lead and on the completion of the first round was 45s ahead of Cockle, with Midget ... third. Lovebug further improved her position in the final round and was Erst home. Lovebug , passed tho compass dolphin well ahead of Cockle, but in the close haul to Resolution buoy Cockle gained on the leader, and out- ' sailed her on the next leg of the course. Toward the finish, however, Lovebug ahead of Coqkle when" they met "on the opposite tacks.
