HOWICK AFFAIRS
TOWN BOARD MEETING The question whether the Howic.k District High School would be served by the local volunteer fire brigade if required, seeing that the school was outside the Howick Town Board boundary, was raised by the headmaster, Mr. F. C. Day, in a letter received nt a meeting.of the board. It was decided to reply that the brigade would be available whenever needed and to point out that a lifdrant was located, within 200 ft. of the school buildings. Following a-report'by-the. works foreman. Mr. W. Amiss, that street surface works were being considerably damaged because the storm water culverts of a number of private motor-ear crossings were insufficient, it was decided to request offending ratepayers to make better provision. The board decided to ask the Auok* land Electric-Power Board why delay was occurring in the erection of further street lamps which were ordered about two months ago.
