WOMEN'S ORGANISATIONS PROBLEM FOR DISCUSSION NEW ZEALAND'S DELEGATES [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] "WELLINGTON, Friday Problems of peace, modern warfare, democracy as a force for peace, the role of women in the organisation of peace and defence against aggression; and the task"of women's organisations are among the topics to be discussed at the Women's World Congress for Peace and Liberty to be held in Cuba next October. New Zealand's two delegates will be Mrs. Elizabeth Kelso, of
Wellington, organising secretary of the Women's Institutes, and Mrs. Ray Wynn, of Auckland, secretary of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. The New Zealand committee for the congress headed by the chairman, Miss A. G. Kane, and the secretary, Mrs. J. G. McLean, with the assistance of the National Council of Women is seeking the co-operation of women throughout New Zealand to decide on the Dominion's attitude to the questions coming before the congress and to finance the delegation. Speakers at the launching of the Wellington campaign emphasised the importance of unity among women of all countries in working for peace and the defence of liberty. Among the sponsors of the congress are such well-jknown British names as Mrs. Corbett Ashby, Dr.. Susan Isaacs, Dame Sybil Thorndike, Miss Ellen Wilkinson, M.P.', and Mrs. Charlotte Haldane. Europe, America and the Far East are to be represented.
