MORRINSVILLE APPOINTMENT {.from our own correspondent] . £ • MORRINSVILLE, The efforts of-the general committee and executive of .' the Morrinsville Disr trict' Veterinary Association to -secure ' the services of a veterinary surgeon fo'r farmers, with a' view to reducing losses of stock" in the 'district,""were reported on at a special general, meeting. The chairman, Mr. M. E.'Barrowclough, presided over an attendance of about *4O farmers from all parts of the district: It was announced that the executive., had appointed Mr. A. A. Blakeley. For the past'l2 month's Sir. Blakeley has been assistant veterinarian to Mr. Leslie, of the Taranaki .Federated Association, an; organisation of six dairy com* panies. He will take; up his duties at Morrinsville •about August 8: • .»;> Sir. Barrowclough said the executive found it 'was impossible to obtain an officer unless provision was made ior a small charge, per visit to Be" payable by members of the association.. The association now has -809 herds signed up and six sheepfarmers. Funds in'hana . totalled £1039.
