ARMS FOR CHINA
GERMAN SHIPMENTS AVOIDANCE OF BLOCKADE • [FROM OCR OWX CORRESPONDENT] SINGAPORE. July 10 Germany, declared partner of Japan, is shipping more' arms; and munition to China through Singapore than other nation. Hundreds of tons of Ger : man shells, cartridges and military explosives. including tiotyl, hare arrived at Singapore for China in German ships. One ship's cqrgo included about 1000 automatic revolvers, aild anotlfer brought 1000 cases of smokeless powder. To avoid the Japanese' blockade of the China coast, German arms and munitions are being transhipped at Singapore intc. a storage vessel lying beyond the harbour limits. This steamer, which is flying the Chinese flag, has hundreds of tons oF military explosives and a quantity oF arms and munitions aboard. The wax material will be picked up from this storage vessel and' delivered later. Although the same check cannot bukept on tho amount of German military equipment, such as motor transport vehicles, passing through Singapore. it is believed that this exceeds the amount supplied to China by nirp other nation. Apart from the. amount of German arms and munitions for China arriving at Singapore, huge quantities of German munitions are being shipped direct to Rangoon and delivered over the new Burma Road.
