PASSENGER LAUNCHES

TWO FOR BAY OF ISLANDS CONSTRUCTION PLANNED [by telegraph OWN correspondent] RUSSELL, Friday Two more passenger launches are to be built in the Bay of Islands within the next three months. At Messrs. "VVarne Brothers sheds, Matawhi Bay, the planking of the new 42ft. launch for Messrs. A. E. Fuller and Sons is well under way. It is expected that this vessel, which is to carry about 80 passengers, will be in the water by the end of October.

A new 40ft. launch with a capacity for about 50 passengers is. shortly to be commenced at Messrs. Deeming Brothers' yards at Opua. It is being built to the order of Mr. J. Deeming and will be in the water before the Christmas holiday tourist traffic begins.

The 32ft. launch Landalla, owned during the past two years by Captain W. R. Knowles. who has been in residence at Russell, has changed hands, the new owner being Mr. H. H. Mountain, of Waimate North. The Landalla will in future be housed at Purerua Bay, in the Te Mongonui Inlet.
