KUKU FARM LANDS

NO ACTION BY CROWN ASSURANCE TO DEPUTATION [BY TELEGIIAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday An assurance that there would be no interference with the lands of the Kuku settlers and that none of their farms Would be taken from them, by the Crown was given by the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, in reply to a deputation of Kuku sottlers and their wives to-day. There is a proclamation over these lands and it was assumed they were to bo used for the settlement of market gardeners dispossessed of properties in the Hutt Valley. There were about 30 in the deputation, including several native settlers. The Prime Minister's assurance was received by the deputation with applause. The representations were also, heard by the Minister of- Internal: Affairs, the Hon; W. E; Parry, the Minister of Housing, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, nrnl. the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Leo Martin.
