FERTILISER SUPPLIES
FARMERS FEAR SHORTAGE EFFECT OF AUCKLAND STRIKE [from ouk otts correspondent] Hamilton, Sunday The opinion that tho strike at the fertiliser works in Auckland might cause serious delay in tho delivery of manures for farms was expressed by several farmers in the Waikato. It was stated, that, although tho demand for fertilisers had slackened during tho past few weeks, many farmers who had experienced difficulty in securing supplies during tho autumn, were relying on having their orders filled at tho present time. Owing to the rush of orders during tho autumn, tho works were barely recovering from the heavy inquiry, and present stocks might not be sufficient to copo with the sudden demand. Soino farmers were in the habit of top-dress-ing during the winter, while others had been forced to.delay manuring because the railway trucks available were not sufficient to cope with the autumn demand.
