EXPRESSES DELAYED

SMALL SLIP ON LINE DEBRIS QUICKLY REMOVED LATE ARRIVALS AT AUCKLAND Express trains bound for Auckland were delayed yesterday morning owing to a small slip on the line between Puketutu and Kopaki, about 10 miles south of Te Kuiti.

The slip occurred between midnight and one o'clock yesterday morning. A goods train was able to pass through it, but the expresses were held up until the line was cleared. The express from New Plymouth was held for 35 minutes at Kopaki. It arrived at Auckland at 7.9 a.m., 39 minutes late. The express from Wellington was also held for 35 minutes while the slip was being cleared. This train arrived here at 7.50, 50 minutes late. The limited express from Wellington was not affected by the slip.
