At the close of play in the telegraphic chess match between the Auckland and Wellington Chess Clubs on Saturday night, results were even, each team having two wins to its credit. Auckland won on boards 6 and 9. lost on 10 and 19. while draws resulted on 1. 3, 4. 12, 15 and 16. Auckland has the advantage in five other games against Wellington's three, but the decision as to which team will play the final against the winning South Island team rests with the adjudication committee.
