Public notice is hereby given that in pursuance of its powers under Sections 77 to 90, inclusive, of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933. Sections .51 to 55, inclusive, of the Rating Act, 1925, Section 52 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1920, Section 50 of the Auckland and Suburban Drainago Act. 190S, and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the One Tree Hill Borough Council intends on WEDNESDAY, June 21, 1939, to make and levy the following rates for the year commencing on April 1, 1939, and ending on March 31, 1940, namely:— 1. A GENERAL RATE of one shilling and one halfpenny (l/oy 2 ) in the £. 2. A HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE of sixpence halfpenny (0y 3 d) in tho £. 3. A LIGHTING RATE of twopence (2d) in the £. All the above based upon the Annual Rateable Value of all Rateable Property as appearing on tho Valuation Roll for the time being in force in the Borough of One Tree Hill. 4. A DRAINAGE RATE, of threepence (3d) in the £ upon the annual Rateable Value of all Rateable Property in the Drainago Area as defined by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, and its amendments. 5. A SANITATION RATE of ten shillings (10/-) upon each property, tenement. flat, shop, or other building from which Council is prepared to remove refuse. 0. A SANITATION RATE of two pounds and twelve shillings (£2/12/-) upon all properties outside the drainage area from which (he Council is prepared to remove nightsoil. 7. WATER RATES: Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied and measured by meter, the rates provided by By-law No. 5 in that behalf. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the waterworks, a rate of five shillings (oh) where the Annual Value docs not exceed £l2/10/-,' and where such Annual Value exceeds £l2/10/-, a rate of 2 per centum upon the Annual Rateable Value. 8. SPECIAL RATES will be collected as follows: Interest Account No. 6, threepence (3d) in (he £. Interest Account No. 9, one penny halfpenny (iy 2 d) in the £, both over the whole Borough. Interest Account No. 2, twopence three farthings (2 3 <id) in the £. in the first drainage area only. Interest Account Conversion Loan No. 3, ninepence halfpenny (9%d) in the £ in the new drainage area only. The foregoing rates (with the exception of water rates charged by meter, which are payable half-yearly on June 1 and December 1) to be payable in one sum on the 3rd day of July, 1039, at the Coiin-il Office, 450 Manukau Road, One Tree Hill. The estimates upon which the foregoing rates are being struck are, together with the Valuation Roll, open to inspection during office hours, at the above stated address. REBATE ON RATES. Pursuant to Section 04 of the Rating Act, 1925. a rebate of 2/4 per centum will be allowed on all rates, with the exception of water measured by meter, that are paid within 30 days from date of demand thereof.
