FASHION STANDARDS MANY DOMESTIC EXHIBITS POPULAR INSTITUTE COURTS The \\ aikato Winter Show is designed to provide attractions for all sections of the community, and not the least important section is that for the women I'or thorn a wid«- variety of exhibits will be shown, including the Women's institute courts, the photographic section. the needlework, cookery and numerous trade exhibits of laboursaving devices for the home. A fashion parade is also included in the programme and tho latest designs oi afternoon and evening dresses will be shown to the best advantage. _ I 1 loin a social point of view, the show is one of the most important functions held in the Waikato, and dressmakers have been employed at top pressure for some time executing orders in time for the event. Many women visitors will be attracted to the exhibition on this account. New dresses worn at the Waikato Winter Show often set the fashion for winter attire, and if only for this reason the show will attract widespread feminine attention One of the outstanding features of the women's sections in past shows has been the competitive display arranged by Women's Institutes. The attrac-tively-decorated courts have provided a magnificent example of the industry of the country woman. Particularly impressive are the articles of needlework and handwork, vwhile with special emphasis laid on the effective, use of what would otherwise be regarded as waste materials, there are always valuable examples of applied thrift/
