DOUBLE FARM TAX
Sir, —The answer to my query which Mr. Alexander Fraser found so easy is not very convincing. Whether the hoard and lodging of a farm employee is worth £1 per week to him or not, if 7s Gil is not chargeable by the farmer then tho worker is entitled to a refund on that amount, and any benefit resulting from give-and-take work done outside working hours tho hired hand or hired female help is entitled to; and not the tax department. Jf the farmer must supply board and lodging for his employees, who are supposed to work in mud and slush for (30 or 70 hours per week for 12s (3d, then what should others supplying same for people working 40 hours per week, with concrete paths to walk on, be allowed to charge? L suggest the limit should be 7s 6d. I'UZZLKD.
