THEFT OF MAIL BAG

CHEQUES FOR £IOO MISSING MAN COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE [by TELEGRAPH —PIIESS association] CnRISTCHUnCII, Thursday With a slit down the side and cheques worth over £IOO missing, a mail bag belonging to the Amberley Girls' Collegiate School was picked up by tlio principal, Sarah Grace Hoy, on May 2. The mail bag contained two small packets. This evidence was given during the hearing of a charge against John Lee Aston when he appeared before Mr. S. C. Levvcy, S.M., in the Court this morning. Aston pleaded guilty to the theft of the bag and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. On other charges of false pretences to which ho pleaded guilty he was remanded for sentence to Juno 1.
