120 ANIMALS KILLED THREE DOGS CAUGHT AND SHOT [by TKLEGHAPH—Pit ESS ASSOCIATION'] HASTINGS, Thursday Following continued vigilance at night by farmers in the Havelock North district, a pack of dogs believed to be responsible for the deaths of approximately 120 sheep and injury to hundreds more in the past three months, was brought to bay early this morning. Three dogs were found worrying sheep A large collie was shot. The others, a crossbred Airedale and a sporting retriever, were caught in the afternoon and shot. The depredations of these dogs have meant considerable losses to farmers in tbe district, the heaviest individual loss being 36 sheep, 21 of these in one night.
