Thursday After 13 years as chairman of the Whangarei Harbour Board, during which period he has been absent from only one meeting, Mr. J. A. Finlayson retired from that office at the annual meeting of the board to-day. Mr. Finlayson has been a member of the board for 18 years.., and did not seek re-election to the chair .. to-day. Mr. E. L. Whimp, deptuy-chairman, was appointed chairman, and Mr. H. E. Hewlett .was appointed deputychairmaa. • -
