AFTERNOON TEA
HAMILTON POST OFFICE SEQUEL TO THE CEREMONY MANY GUESTS ENTERTAINED Following the ceremony of the laying of the foundation stone of the new chief post office, performed at Hamilton yesterday by the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, a large number of guests, who included former postal officials, was entertained at afternoon tea in the Alexandra Hall by members of the Post and Telegraph Department. They were received on arrival by the Postmaster-General and Mrs. Jones, assisted by Mr. C. A. Barrell, the member for Hamilton, and were also welcomed by the Mayor, Mr. H. D. Caro. Those present at the official table included Mrs. Jones, who was wearing a navy ensemble with furs and a navy hat; Mrs. Duncan, wife of the Hon. J. E. Duncan, M.L.C. (Wharepuliunga), who wore a coat of deep blue with a toning hat; Mrs. C. A. Barrell, in a brown check ensemble worn with a brown liat and furs; and Mrs. Caro, who wore a black ensemble with fox furs and a black hat. Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Caro carried bouquets presented to them by two school children at the foundation stone ceremony. The invited guests included: —Mrs. W. Lee Martin (Wellington), Mrs. W. S.
