Limerick Contest
You all know what a limerick is, but have you ever tried to make one up for yourselves? Now is your chance to try. In this all you have to do is. to compose a limerick of five lines like the example given here. There was an old fellow of Yoker, Who tinted his whiskers with ochre; J* When he noticed their shade He was very dismayed, So he burned them all off with a poker. It is ever such fun and you may send in as many entries as you wish. Now see what amusing verses you can make up. Eight halif-crown prizes will be awarded to the senders of the best limericks. - RULES. Write on one side of the paper only. Name, age and address must accompany each entry. All limerick* must be original. Limericks may be illustrated if the competitors wish. (Indian ink must be useel for the sketches.) Address all entries to " ANNE SHIRLEY," Herald Office, Queen Street, Auckland.
