INJURY TO HOUSEMAID
| CHARGES AGAINST YOUTH [by tei-kgraph—ritEss association] PALMERSTON NORTH. Friday Charges of theft, of being a rogue and vagabond in that he was armed with an offensive weapon, and of doing grievous bodily harm to Constance Hallam, a housemaid employed at Mnssey College, ivere preferred against a youth in the Juvenile Court. A remand was granted so that the youth could bo examined by an alienist. Miss Hallam, who was found unconscious and seriously injured near the Fitzherbert Bridge over the Manawatii River, on the night of April 26, is still in a serious condition in the Palmerston North Hospital.
