EPSOM TRAINING

EASY TASKS GENERAL NEWCOMERS IN ACTION BINGEN'S BEST GOES WELL CONDITION OF BOLD BOY

BY ABAYDOS

Although the dirt track was in fine order at Epsom yesterday, there was not much fast work, most of the horses being given easy tasks, after the hard racing on Saturday. Bingen's Best (J. Garnett) was too good for Honey Pot (J. Peters) over a mile and a-half run in 3.40. Honey Pot went away a second in front, but they were oil terms at the mile in 2.30, from which point Bingen's Best drew away. She ran the last mile and aquarter in 2.58. After .passing the mile and a-quarter in 3.9, Honey Pot was not driven out.

Ringstone (W. Fleming), unhoppled, covered a mile and three furlongs, running the last three furlongs in 545. Tho half-sister to Free Advice lias furnished and is showing more stamina. Musketeer (J. Peters) was allotted a strong task free-legged, over two circuits at a 2.34 rate. He will not raco until tho Auckland winter meeting. Golden Wattle (D. 0. Jones) trotted a mile and a-half in 3.55, without undue effort. She has grown into a neat and solid filly. Dick Redmond (A. Paton) was not at top while working a mile and a-half in 3.48, going evenly all the way. Moriori and Worthy Protection

Two newcomers, Moriori and Worthy Protection, were given moderate tasks. Moriori, who has shown glimpses of form, has been placed in E. N. Kennerley's stable. Worthy Protection is by Worthy Bingen from Windshield, a full-sister to free Advice, and has joined C. M. Morrison's team. Post Haste (L. J. Mahoney) was worked in saddle, but did not do better than 2.83 to the mile. Ale may bo tried as a saddle horse in the hopo that he will leave the mark correctly. No novice at Epsom is better conditioned than Bold Boy (J. Forgesson) who had no difficulty in trotting two laps at a 2.40 rato. By Nelson Bingen from a Gold Bell mare, Bold Boy is an attractive young trotter. Fisher (A. Paton), unhoppled, sprinted the last three furlongs of strong work in 535. Fisher will be kept going for the winter meeting. Chaise (P. Morrison) ran a useful mile and three furlongs, and was going on well. He has improved with racing and gives the impression that two miles will not trouble him.

Star Pronto, looking none the worse for his two hard races, was pottered about. He has been physicked and will have a few days off before beginning a preparation for the Adams Memorial Handicap. Surprise Journey Progeny

A two-year-old filly by Surprise .Journey—Lady Linda (J. Paton) and a two-year-old gelding by Surprise Journey—Luvan' (1). 0. Jones) were on the track. The filly is a pacer, while the gelding favours tho trotting gait of his sire. J. MoKendriek worked the Linnet the Great fillies, by Great Parrish and Ringtrue respectively, in hopples. Both performed creditably. The Groat Parrish candidate, who is the elder', is more forward, but the Ringtrue filly has the better style. G. Cole is educating a three-year-old trotter by Surprise Journey from a Florizel mare. 'The gelding is welldeveloped and well-mannered. Silk Lady' took no harm from the race on Saturday when, although the conditions were against her, she gave a sound display. She is not far from her best again, j-. . A number of horses used the sand track, including Fernbrook Lass, Munga Trtngi, Kewpie's Bingen, Canadian, Eighteen Carat. Gold Kip, Lucky Love, Gold Circle, John's Last, Vanora, Gay Moko, Luminate, Three Bells and Amywyn.
