ST. GEORGE'S, PAPATOETOE MOST SUCCESSFUL YEAR The most successful year in the history of the parish was reviewed at the annual meeting of St. George's Church, Papatoetoe. Reports showed a considerable increase in attendances and the number of communicants, all debts wiped out, all diocesan obligations fulfilled and credit balances amounting to over £l6O. Total receipts were almost double those of the previous year. The following officers were elected: — Vicar's warden, Mr. W. J. Nicholson; peoples warden, Mr. L. A. White; vestry, Messrs. Fielden, Hoyle, Sibley, Bent, Smith, Burrow, Wainwright and Brewster.
ST. AIDAN'S, CLAUDELANDS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Friday Credits in the general account and in the building account and assets valued at £2015, with no liabilities, were disclosed in the balance-sheet presented at the annual meeting of St. Aidan's parishioners, Claudelauds, this week. The vicar, the Rev. G. A. Grossman, presided. It was reported that the home and Maori mission quotas had been met and that the vestry was now in a position to purchase a vicarage. Since the accounts were closed over £9O had been collected for the building fund. Mr. J. I. Paterson was elected people's warden, and the following were elected to the vestry:—Messrs. H. M. Baker, W. H. Blakeway, E. A. Butt, L. Champion, D. Lepine, «T. C. Stubfes, J. N. Thirlwall. E. P. J. Trevena, J. T. Watson and Dr. K. McGregor.
ST. ANDREW'S, CAMBRIDGE [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Friday The following, officers were elected at the annual meeting of parishioners: of St. Andrew's • Church, Cambridge:— Vicar's warden, Mr. C. W. Boyce; people's warden. Mr. H. A. Watkinsj vestry, Messrs. H. D. Dallimore, E. N. Leigh, T. Dix. R. S. Entwistlc. 0. V. Simpson, C. A. Finch, J, Linsley, A. 1). Savers, A. G. Pearce and J. Main; sidesmen, Messrs. T. Dix, chief, S. and C. Buttimore > H. Neely and C. A. Finch; auditor, Mr. T. H. Hampshire.
ST. GEORGE'S, EPSOM A satisfactory position in all branches of the church's finances was revealed at the annual meeting of parishioners of St. George's Church, Epsom. This was mainly due, tho vestry's report stated, to the help given to the church funds by the women of the parish, over £77 being made from two sales, and £2O being presented by the Ladies' Guild. Thanks were expressed for many valuable gifts made to the church during the year, among them being a stained window above tbe altar, the gift of Mrs. Preston Chambers and her sons, as a memorial to her late husband, who was vicar's warden for many years. Other gifts to the church included an electric heating apparatus, a lectionary Bible, and new hymn books and. kneelers. The following officers were elected:— Vicar's warden, Mr. R. A. Dexter; people's warden, Mr. W. Palmer; vestry, Messrs. L. Andrews, T. Coward, M. Chambers, W. Noad, W. Perry, N. Russell, J. S. Woollams. S. Weir and W. Sol wood; auditor, Mr. R. S. Woollams.
PAPAKURA PARISH Tho annual meeting of parishioners at Papakuru, which includes Drury, Karaka, Takanini, Tonga and Waiau Pa, was held in the Papakura Parish hall, the vicar, the Rev. Hopkins\Sinelair, presiding. The report referred to a year of much progress, with increased attendances at the Sunday services, while the statement of receipts and expenditure showed a considerable financial improvement. Officers were elected as follows:- — People's warden, Mr. G, Kernot; secretary and treasurer, Mr. P. Gatrell; central vestry, Messrs. A. L. Turner, G. F. Williams, K. Watson, Mrs. 1. Beams (Papakura), Messrs. H. Walters and H. B. Lindesay (Karaka), S Adcock. D. W. Young (Drury), Shannon (Takanini).
