HURDLES RECORD
In breaking the record for the 120 yds. hurdles at the secondary schools sports last Saturday, R. E. Moore, son of Mr. Eisdcll Moore, put up a fine performance. Prior to last Saturday the Auckland recqrd stood at 15 4-ss, the New Zealand at 15 2-ss, the Australian at 15 2-ss. and the great public schools of England at 15 l-ss. R. E. Moore, in registering 15 l-os, established a new Australian and New Zealand record, and equalled the English one. On the same, afternoon Moore equalled the Auckland schools' record of sft. 7in. in the high jump. An even better time for the ]2ovds. hurdles has, however, once been recorded in Auckland, but it is not included in the sports records as it was established before the secondary schools meetings were started. This is the time of 15s run by J. C. Whitney at King's College in 1010, Mr. Whitney has been responsible for the training of the King's College athletic team this year.
