COUNTY ASSOCIATION
MEMBERS' EASTER SOCIAL ENJOYABLE ENTERTAINMENT An Easter social held hy the Cumberland and Westmoreland Association in the club rooms'in Chancery Lane was a pleasant and successful function. The president, Mr. E. Parkinson, welcomed members and their friends. Prior to commencing proceedings, the president referred to two members whose deaths had taken place in the past month, Mrs. I. Little, founder of the Auckland branch of the Association and Mrs. E. Bvers. Members stood in silence as a tribute of respect. The evening's entertainment comprised dancing, cards, items and games. Assisting with items were Mrs. W. Nelsoa, Mr. J. Harpwood, Mr. T. Graveson and Mr. Paris Cowper. An old county custom, a coloured egg competition, was held for the best dyed egg. Many entries were received, the prizewinner being Miss Lorna Doherty. Following the judging, the eggs were knocked together to find the hardest boiled. Two Easter prizes donated by Mrs. Rottery and Mr. Parkinson wero .Won by Mr. Graveson and Mr. May.
